Within the laboratory for Thermal technique and fire protection, testing of fire resistant dampers is performed in a standard vertical test furnace measuring 3000 mm x 3000 mm. The testing laboratory provides testing services in accordance with SRPS EN 1366-2 standard while the conditions in the furnace are prescribed by the SRPS EN 1363-1 standard for which we are also accredited.
To test fire resistant dampers in accordance with European standards, it is necessary to test the largest and smallest damper of the same type. Dampers can be installed in a rigid or flexible wall on the inside or outside of the wall, depending on the customer's requirements. The main task of the damper is to maintain its properties in terms of integrity (E) and thermal insulation properties (I) during the testing period. We also provide customers with the possibility of determining the smoke permeability (S class) of the tested dampers.
fire resistant dampers are tested at a vacuum of 300 Pa during the entire test period where the quality of the damper tightness is tested, which is prescribed by the upper limit of the permitted volumetric flow (determination of class S). Thermocouples are also placed on the damper to monitor the temperature on the non-exposed side in order to check the thermal insulation properties of the product.
In addition to testing fire resistant dampers, we provide services of classification for tested dampers in accordance with the SRPS EN 13501-3 standard.
