Reaction to fire

Reaction to fire and classification of products according to standard SRPS EN 13501-1

In the initial stages of fire, materials and constructions contribute to fire development. Classification of building products, based on results of the examination, is done according to standard SRPS EN 13501-1. Laboratory is capable of conducting all necessary examinations in order to make classification in accordance to mentioned standard. Tests done for the purpose of fire classification are:

First two testing methods are used for examination of materials that do not contribute to fire development significantly (classes A1 and A2)

SBI test is required for product classification from A2 to D class, not including floor products.

Floor products are tested with different method – FLOORING TEST. Classes for products tested with this method scale from A2FL and DFL

Products tested with Single flame source test can achieve classes from B to E.

On the picture bellow, table from standard SRPS EN 13501-1 is shown. In the table are given required test methods with grading criteria which are required for product to be classified to certain class. Following table does not refer to floors and pipe insulation.
